We will visit a different birding hotspot every Wednesday evening in May. We hope to see a variety of birds as the spring migration progresses, including thrushes, vireos, warblers, and sparrows. Join us each week to see what birds are migrating through our area.

Wiouwash Trail (Medina Juntion Section)

Directions: From I-41, take exit 133 for County Road II / Winchester Road. Turn left on County Road II / Winchester Road and continue west for approximately 6 miles. Turn right on Pioneer Road. Turn left on Medina Junction Road and cross the railroad tracks. There are two parking areas – one on your left and one on your right immediately upon crossing the tracks. Please proceed to park in either lot. We’ll gather in the north lot.

Accessibility: This section of the Wiouwash is mostly flat with well-packed stone or gravel (95%). There are railroad tracks about a tenth of a mile north of the northmost parking lot. There is at least one bench near the tracks. While there’s generally enough room for bikes and joggers to pass, exercise caution and keep to the side of the trail as much as possible.
