Early summer nights are full of sounds. Join us for a walk to listen for frogs and other creatures of the night with our friends from BAGO (Be Active. Go Outside.). Learn to identify frogs by their songs. We’ll sing a frog song, too!
We are happy to partner on these two field trips with BAGO which is an initiative between the Winnebago County Parks Dept., Oshkosh Recreation Dept., and pds.F.U.S.I.O.N.
Location: Asylum Pt / Picnic Pt Wildlife Refuge
Directions: From Oshkosh take Bowen Street (County Road A) north to East Snell Road. Turn right on East Snell Road. At the T intersection, proceed to cross Sherman Road and park in the gravel lot where we will meet.
GPS Address: 3700 Sherman Rd, Oshkosh, WI 54901
Accessibility: Trail surfaces are highly variable. While the trails primarily consist of mowed grass lanes, the wooded portion is shaded with protruding roots and rocks. The woods frequently floods and can cause the trails to become muddy and slippery. Waterproof shoes might be a good idea.
